On 18th October, a small group of Questers visited Stowe Independent School and its surrounding Landscape Gardens. Before lunch we were treated to a guided tour of the very grand House and were told about its chequered history. It had been recently restored by our hosts, the Stowe House Preservation Trust. After Lunch we given a very interesting tour of the famous, surrounding, Landscape Gardens, which had been restored by the National Trust. It was here that the well-known landscape gardener 'Capability' Brown had learnt his skills and subsequently spread the notion of the 'Landscape Garden' around the Stately Homes of England.
